"Validating Visual Heritage in Africa: Historical Photographs and the Role of the “Archive”

A African Photography Initiatives, uma instituição dedicada à recuperação de arquivos fotográficos africanos, organiza, em parceria com as Universidades de Buea (Camarões) e Basel (Suiça), a conferência Validating Visual Heritage in Africa: Historical Photographs and the Role of the “Archive”, cujo objectivo é enunciado desta forma: 

The aim of the conference is to stimulate discussions about, and set out an agenda for, the space(s), value, role and future of photographic collections within the broader framework of the ‘Archive’.

À conferência, associa-se o projecto Press Photo Archives Buea, de que resulta uma exposição, com intervenções de artistas contemporâneos sobre o arquivo fotográfico camaronês.
