On the move é um site com oportunidades de mobilidade para diversos destinos e artistas de diversas origens com informação recolhida através de uma rede de mais de 30 membros em 20 países.

O site disponibiliza informação regular sobre residências, festivais, concursos entre outras iniciativas, agregando informação útil sobre oportunidades em diversos pontos do mundo, na sua maioria com apoios à mobilidade dos artistas.

"On the Move (OTM) is a cultural mobility information network with more than 30 members in over 20 countries across Europe and beyond. Our mission is to encourage and facilitate cross-border mobility and cooperation, contributing to building up a vibrant and shared European cultural space that is strongly connected worldwide."

The On the Move network has established a strategic plan 2011-2013 focusing on three priority activities:information provision, advocacy for a sustainable and responsible cultural mobility, and strengthening of its network. In line with its strategic plan, OTM constantly implements and improve its information service about cultural mobility and related issues (mainly through this website); and works on aCharter for sustainable and responsible cultural mobility together with its members.

Fifth Annual Conference of the African Borderlands Research Network ABORNE

"Crossing African Borders: Migration and Mobility", ISCTE-IUL, Lisbon

(21-23 September 2011)

Focusing on the role of African borders in migratory movements, the Conference will address several topics and discuss the importance and role of borders to the circulation and identity building, the implications of border management and the strategies of populations for migration and border crossing. Panels will analyze current changes and their historical roots; discuss the mutual implications of cross-border circulation, migration and identities; present empirical evidence of transformations taking place; contribute to the theoretical debate and methodological approach of borderland studies in Africa.
