In revenge for a missed promotion, Iago convinces Othello that his young and beautiful wife Desdemona is carrying on an affair with Cassio, his newly-promoted rival. Instigated by Iago and mad with jealousy, Othello spins towards the greatest passionate tragedy of all times.
