Hosting institution: Euro-Arab Network for Contemporary Dance and Performance)
Location of the internship: Berlin, Germany
Available positions: 1 to 3 per year
Length: 3 to 6 months or more (according to the requirements from the student’s home institution or other funder)
Internship period: any dates starting from June 2014 onwards
We are looking for interns (project management and/or communication interns) .
Interns gain invaluable experience from working for an international network in the field of contemporary dance and performance that operates both in Europe, the Arab World and the Mediterranean since 1998.
The main task of the intern will be to assist the management and communication of the various upcoming network projects that will take place in the Arab world and Europe, in the months and years to come.
Specific tasks will include:
- Assisting the organisation, management and administration of international events such as network meetings, dance festivals and platforms in the Arab world, Europe, the Mediterranean ( contacting local and international partners /network members/ funders; invitations; assisting the proposal writing and budgeting of funding applications, communication and coordination with local producers and partner institutions; etc);
- Communication ( update of the website - currently under construction , research of information and opportunities for artists in the field of contemporary dance and performance art from Europe and the Arab World; newsletters; etc)
Internships take place on a full-time daily basis (from Monday to Friday) in Berlin / Germany . The intern also might be requested (upon the availability of funds for each project) to assist our general coordinator in various missions abroad (in European and the Arab countries) for specific periods.
The basic language requirements are English and another European language (preferably German or French) or Arabic is a plus. Excellent written and oral communication in English or any one of these languages is a must.
Knowledge on studying and living abroad is an asset. You have to be enthusiastic and hard-working. Social skills and the ability to work independently are important. Knowledge on basic office programs, photography, video editing and social media is an asset.
The position is suitable for students of economics, business, languages or communication.
The internships are generally unpaid. The compensation is mainly based on funding from student's own home institution or other donor. Please tell us your desired starting date and length of the internship and about possible funding possibilities for your internship.
